How To Check Your Bangle Bracelet Size

May 12, 2017

I absolutely love a good bangle bracelet but it can be hard to buy bangles online. I’m always crossing my fingers that the bangle will fit over my hand and, at the same time, not fly off when I make a gesture. The struggle is real.

I say, struggle no more. Here's the secret to making sure you get the right size bangle. You can go about this one of two ways. Option 1, you can measure the size of a bangle you already have and find bangles that are the same size. Option 2, you can measure your hand size and find bangles that will fit your wrist based on that.

Option 1: How To Check Bangle Size

If you’ve got a bangle that fits great, you just need to measure the inner circumference or the inner diameter of your current bangle and boom, now you know what size bangle to look for while shopping online. In case it’s been awhile since you’ve thought about the diameter and circumference of a circle, here’s a little graphic that will break things down for you.

Option 2: How To Measure Your Hand For A Bangle

If you're still searching for a bangle that fits well, don't worry, I've got you covered. You can measure your hand and get your bangle size in a matter of minutes. Depending on how the bangle size is listed, you’ll go about this one of two ways. If the website you’re shopping on lists the inner diameter all you need to do is measure from the middle of your first knuckle to the middle of your 4th knuckle. That’s the size bangle you’ll need to buy.

How To Measure Your Wrist For A Bangle

If the website lists the inner circumference of the bangle, you’ll have to do a little math. Take the length from the middle of your first knuckle to the middle of your fourth knuckle and enter that number into the below formula.

Diameter x 3.14 = Circumference

As an example, the distance between my knuckles is 2.5 inches. In my case, the equation would look like this.

2.5 x 3.15 = Circumference

2.5 x 3.15 = 7.875

I want to look for a bangle that has a circumference of roughly 7.875 inches.

If you don’t see your exact size, something close will do the trick. And you can rest easy knowing when you purchase any piece of vintage or antique jewelry from Atique, you’ve 365 days to return it.
